Synopsis: Two plays set in the South Coast Hotel Beuregarde where the manageress, Miss Cooper, is unable to keep herself aloof from the problems of her guests. In 'Table No. 1' she attempts to help John and ex-wife Ann, who have ruined each other, find salvation together. In 'Table No. 2' she attempts to give Major Pollock and Miss Railton-Bell, both misfits drawn together by despair, the courage to face life.
